“Do It For Her…”

I found out that some years ago…

My close friend had breast cancer

She was vibrant, young and beautiful

So had she not made it known

I probably would’ve never asked her

I couldn’t believe it

It really hit home

But what hurt the most…

Was the whole time I knew her, I didn’t know

I wondered if she thought, I didn’t care

It crossed my mind…

Maybe she felt I wouldn’t be there

Because I couldn’t relate

But it’s never too late

So to all my friends, if cancer has hit home

I want you to know

You are not alone

I am here

I do care

You are my sister

No matter your shade, shape or the texture of your hair

We will survive together

We will continuously be strong

Success will be the repeating chorus to your everlasting song

Please let me know whatever it is

That I can do to help

I am down for the cause

I want to give of myself

I will walk with you

Ride for you

My friend, my sister

I am your keeper

Should you need my heart, I’d die for you

And I’d do all this in the name of love

So to all my friends, if cancer should ever hit home

I want you to know

You are not alone

I am here

I do care

And I hope my words

You will receive

I’d do anything I could for you

For I am confident

You’d do the same for me….
